Guests frequently contact us to fly directly into York Racecourse by helicopter, saving a significant amount of time, arriving in style and in plenty of time for the first race. York Racecourse is one of the Premier tracks in Europe having recently won the Flat Racecourse of the Year Award and also came out top in The Times newspaper survey of all Britain’s racecourses.

Situated in the city centre the racecourse is perfect for a short city break or a day out. York city centre is notorious for heavy traffic, especially on race days. Fly overhead the city traffic, enjoying a spectacular view of York Minster en – route, to arrive refreshed and ready to enjoy your day.

Helicopter Charter For York Races 2017

Guests charter our helicopters to fly into York Races throughout the season. we can work with you to collect you from selected convenient venues and fly over the traffic of York city centre, directly into the racecourse. Upon arrival you will be greeted and escorted over to the main stand by the friendly staff at the racecourse.

May Dante Festival – 17th, 18th, 19th May

Arriving by helicopter to the York Races Dante Festival in the spring Yorkshire sunshine is a great way to begin your racing season. York Races comments that “the season lies ahead and many star horses have risen to prominence on the Knavesmire over these three fantastic days. Last season, saw Star of Seville take victory in the opening day’s Tattersalls Musidora before claiming the French Oaks.”

May Spring Meeting – 27th May

A single day event, perfect for arriving and departing by helicopter. The feature race of the day, the Stowe Family Law LLP Grand Cup is a Listed race, which means it will be won by a horse of real quality. Previous winners regularly have Royal Ascot success listed on their CV.

June Meeting – 16th and 17th June

If you travel to the June meeting by helicopter, your ticket price will be contributing to a worthy cause. Since 1971 this event has raised over £6.5 million for good causes and provided some fantastic racing excitement. Just by attending the day, racegoers will be helping to raise money for charities, one of which is Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan provides practical, medical and, emotional support as well as pushing for better cancer care.

John Smiths Cup – 14th and 15th July.

Brewed just a few miles from our home airfield in Tadcaster, the John Smiths Cup over two days provides a great reason to fly into York Races. A sic figure prize and a unique Wedgewood trophy await the victor. The support of the Tadcaster brewer makes this the longest running sponsorship on the flat anywhere in the world and the event is one of Yorkshire’s finest.

Ebor Festival 23rd – 26th August

The oldest, richest, fastest, and most famous races provide sporting excellence combined with fashion and fun over four fabulous days. 10th September – Press Family Day

The only Sunday event on York’s calendar, this event is geared for all the family. With seven thoroughbred races plus a Charles Owen Pony race at the beginning of the card, an interactive racing zone and bouncy castles. Also on hand is children’s favourite, Paddington Bear for the first time to York Races on this day too.

October Meeting – 13th and 14th October

As the York Racing calendar draws to a close, the final race of the season sees owners often out testing for the sprint races. There’s also a Countryside Market, perfect for stocking up on some early Christmas treats. Just be sure that the gifts will fit into the helicopter for the journey home – no chandeliers please!
